His extensive board experience, including his current role as Chair at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, has given him a strong knowledge of organisational strategy and leading organisations through challenging environments.

Mike joins Brunelcare with over 40 years’ experience in the field of housing, construction and property development and is an Incorporated Member of the Chartered Institute of Building. Mike has previously worked as Director of Property Safety and Regeneration for the Curo Group and is currently director of Cleeve Consulting Limited which offers housing regeneration development and asset management services to housing associations, local authorities and commercial companies.

Carol comes to Brunelcare with considerable experience in the management and delivery of services across social care, mental health, local authorities and the NHS. Carol has worked for many years within the public health sector and currently works as Head of Service for Public Health at Bristol City Council. Carol led Bristol City Council’s COVID-19 vaccination programme and received an award which recognised the Council’s success in increasing vaccine uptake in underserved communities in Bristol.

Jo is a qualified accountant and has worked in the health and social housing sectors for the past 15 years. Jo started her career in London working with a social development consultancy before moving to Bristol and spending six years in PwC’s public sector team. She is currently Chief Investment Officer at Abri, a registered provider of social housing which manages nearly 60,000 homes across the country

Andy is the Director of Financial Services for LiveWest, one of the largest housing associations in the South West, and has over 15 years of housing experience in associations of various sizes. Professionally qualified as a chartered accountant and corporate treasurer, he has experience of leading both finance and procurement teams. He has detailed knowledge of asset management reviews, including options for improvement, regeneration or disposal, the insourcing and outsourcing of maintenance services and fleet services.

Alison has combined a 30-year senior local authority career in Bristol, with an artistic life as co-artistic director of Theatre West. Having started life as a social worker in the Bristol, Alison has managed social care services and been the Director of Adult Social Services. She has also managed housing, community safety, safeguarding and was a Non- Executive Director for The National Treatment Agency for 6 years. She was awarded an MBE in 2011 for Services to Local Government for her work in tackling substance misuse in Bristol.

Anthony is a Chartered Surveyor and leading expert in the care home and retirement living property markets, having worked in the UK healthcare market for over 15 years. Anthony is a Director at Jones Lang LaSalle with particular responsibility for facilitating investment into the extra care and care home markets through new sites, forward funding opportunities, disposals, and acquisitions of operational healthcare assets and real estate backed businesses.

Harry has been on the boards of numerous companies and organisations for 25 years. His experience spans the NHS, the charity sector, national and local government, academia, regulation and the music industry. He has led large-scale transformation, restructuring, merger, acquisition, closure and change programmes. He has specialist experience in HR and organisation design and development.

Phil is a partner in Hope Consultancy and Training, which works with health and social care organisations to help them navigate the changing landscape of the sector and to develop excellent and sustainable care services for older people. He is also visiting professor at the Institute for Global Health Innovation at Imperial College London. Phil is a former Member of Parliament (1997-2010) and served in a number of Ministerial roles with responsibilities for care services, local government, skills, charities, social enterprise and social finance.

Nick has spent most of his career in local government, but has also worked in the voluntary and private sectors. His background is in housing development and in the nearly 30 years he spent with Bristol City Council – the last 12 as Director of Housing Solutions – he developed expertise in homelessness, private housing renewal, commissioning, strategy and policy development as well as organisational development.
Oona became the Chief Executive Officer of Brunelcare in 2019, having previously worked as CEO of United Communities, a community-based housing association in Bristol. She also serves as a Board member for the National Care Forum and Care and Support West, is co-chair of the Bristol One City Homes Board and is a Trustee at mental health charity, Second Step.
Oona is responsible for leading the development and delivery of Brunelcare’s long-term strategy in partnership with the Board, and overseeing the Executive Team to ensure the safe and effective delivery of this strategy and Brunelcare’s day-to-day operations.
John joined Brunelcare in 2023 after working in a number of senior finance positions, including five years as Director of Finance and Support Services at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. As a Fellow Chartered Accountant, he has a wealth of experience and knowledge, having worked across charities and commercial organisations, including St Joseph’s Hospice, The Fairtrade Foundation and Christian Aid.
John is responsible for overseeing finance and Digital Services within Brunelcare.
Mandy joined Brunelcare in 2019, having previously worked for 35 years across the public and private sector as a policy lead, regulator, auditor and investigator.
Mandy is responsible for overseeing the following functions within Brunelcare: HR and the People Team, Governance, Complaints, Health and Safety, Communications, Customer Engagement and Marketing.
Mandy is the Executive Team member responsible for ensuring Brunelcare complies with the Regulator for Social Housing’s Governance and Consumer Standards.
Sandra joined Brunelcare in 1993 as a Registered Nurse at Robinson House Care Home, before progressing through the ranks to become Director of Nursing and Care Services within the charity.
Sandra is responsible for ensuring Brunelcare delivers high-quality person-centred care to those receiving care and support from Brunelcare, and that compliance with Care Quality Commission standards is maintained. Sandra oversees the following care functions within Brunelcare: our Care Homes, Reablement Services, Community Care and the care provision in Brunelcare’s Extra Care Housing schemes.
Michelle joined Brunelcare in 1999 as a care assistant, progressing to care home manager before moving to Brunelcare’s housing division and managing the support services. Michelle was appointed to the newly created role of Director of Customer Services in 2025. She has a Level 5 Diploma in Housing from the Chartered Institute of Housing and is a chartered member of the Institute.
Michelle is responsible for overseeing Brunelcare’s housing and responsive repairs operations, as well as leading on Customer Service across the whole charity.
Jonathan has over 18 years of experience working in social housing and joined Brunelcare in 2025, taking on the new role of Director of Property and Investment. Before this, he spent two years at Centrus as a Director and advisor to social housing and care sector clients, and nine years at Poplar HARCA, a housing association in East London.
Jonathan is responsible for Brunelcare’s strategic objective to ensure that we provide great homes that are fit for the future. This will include identifying and evaluating opportunities for redevelopment and considering a wider spectrum of investment opportunities.
