Leaves are supposed to fall. People aren’t.
A Falls Prevention Project began in April 2015, commissioned by Bristol City Council and working in partnership with Brunelcare.
The project involved 16 care homes in Bristol and lasted until October 2015. Its aim was to improve falls management in Care Homes. Sandra Payne, Head of Clinical Excellence for Brunelcare and Rob Benington, Commissioning, Contracts & Quality for Bristol city Council were the project leads.
The introduction of plotting the time and place of a fall was the underlying principle of the project, along with implementing falls audit systems and ensuring that falls prevention training is taking place in each care home.
