Become Part of Something More
Chair of Trustees
With the retirement of our current Chair, Brunelcare is seeking an exceptional individual to lead its well-established board of trustees.
You will be a visionary leader who is equally comfortable in a strategic leadership, ambassadorial and mentoring role. You will play an important and visible role; leading Brunelcare’s board to maximise its performance and contribution to the communities it serves
Founded in 1941, Brunelcare is a long-standing and successful charity providing a range of supported housing and social care in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Somerset. The charity’s work is more important now than ever, as we provide care and support for some of the most vulnerable people in our society. It is also a crucial time for the organisation as we look to the future by developing a new strategic plan and advancing a portfolio of development work.
We are open-minded regarding your professional experience, but you must be a strategically-minded credible leader, with skills and experience in leading a similarly complex organisation during a period of change where the emphasis has been on reputation, stability and outcomes. You must have Board level experience, ideally as a Chair but certainly in significant Executive or Non-Executive Director roles. The successful applicant will have a skill set that is blended, balancing a strategic outlook with a passion for providing the best possible care and support for older people.
We seek to create an ‘unlike-minded board’ reflecting true diversity. We want our board to represent the diversity of the communities of which we are a part. We warmly welcome applicants who will help us to achieve this aim.
With board meetings, and regular liaison with trustees, the Chief Executive Officer and the Company Secretary, your time commitment will equate to around 12 hours per month, including preparation time, training and other events. This is an unremunerated position.
