In June 2015 we held the ‘grand opening’ of the Albert Tavern in our Saffron Gardens Care Home, opened by World Champion Boxer and local Bristol resident Lee Haskins!

This is just one of the innovative developments we have introduced to the care home this summer to provide a more exciting and stimulating environment for the residents we care for.

The idea behind opening the ‘Albert Tavern’, a beauty parlour called ‘Victoria’s’ and a little sweet shop selling the good old favourites is to provide environments along ‘Saffron Street’ within the care home that interactively trigger memories and stimulate the senses. The pub also provides a more relaxed and fun place for residents, carers, family and friends to sit and chat from time to time.

We even have some new residents in two of our court gardens: Saffy and Daffy ducks and Cookie and Cream rabbits!

All these developments have come about thanks to the imagination, hard work and dedication of our care team; along with generous support from local retailers.
