Brunelcare is delighted to confirm that planning permission was granted on Tuesday 3rd April for the development of a new 64-bed care home and 24-bed reablement service in Cadbury Heath, South Gloucestershire.
Brunelcare agreed the contract for the development, in partnership with Brackley Investments, in November 2017. Brackley Investments will develop the buildings to Brunelcare’s specification, which the charity will then lease from them on a 25-year term.
It is hoped that the new care home and reablement service will be up and running by the end of 2019.
Kevin Fairman, CEO Brunelcare, comments:
“This is excellent news in that we will be able to increase the number of care home places Brunelcare currently provides for people in the South West region by 20%, along with expanding our already successful reablement service, supporting people returning home from hospital. The versatility of this building will enable us to offer a variety of care and support needs to meet the changing requirements of care provision going forward. This development will also provide over 100 new job opportunities, for both our existing employees and new recruits, when we recruit to run this new service.”
All four of Brunelcare’s care homes have been rated ‘gold standard’ for their end of life care
Brunelcare’s Robinson House care home is the first care home in Bristol to be rated by Dementia Care Matter’s Household Model of Care Butterfly Accreditation scheme as a ‘Butterfly Home’
