Brunelcare is one of two charities chosen to be ALD Automotive’s local charity, with the purpose of developing a long-term volunteering relationship with us.
The other Bristol based charity that ALD are supporting is Pauls Place, a day centre for adults with physical disability in Emersons Green, Bristol.
ALD Automotive spoke to our Deerhurst care home team a few months ago, and supported the care home with some voluntary work in 2017 which their teams found rewarding. Following this ALD were keen to build a longer term relationship with selected local charities; where they could increase engagement amongst their Bristol based employees on a longer term basis, rather than carrying out ‘one off’ volunteer activities as they had done in the past.
ALD asked their employees to nominate their preferred charities that they would all like work with for a year and Brunelcare was lucky to be chosen!
The types of volunteering activities being completed for Deerhurst include helping out with daily activities such as – music, reading, painting, creative activities, games, board games, cards, puzzles, and keep fit programmes, and even to just sit and talk to residents. They also plan to help out with shopping trips and away days.
Thank you ALD Automotive for your support – we welcome you to our world!
