Brunelcare seeking new Chair of Trustees

Brunelcare has an exciting opportunity to become our new Chair of Trustees, and help shape our future.

After careful consideration, our current Chair Graham Russell, has decided to step down from the role at the end of 2026.

During his time as Chair, Graham has led a period of continued progress, which has seen Brunelcare launch a new strategic plan, strengthen its governance, invest in the quality of its homes and services, and deepen its focus on listening to and involving customers.

Graham will remain in post as Chair until the end of December, and will work closely with the Board, Interim Chief Executive Officer Sonia Furzland and the incoming Chair to ensure continuity and a clear handover. Brunelcare will also be recruiting for an additional Trustee role during this period.

Brunelcare’s outgoing Chair, Graham Russell, said: “It has been a real privilege to serve as Chair of Brunelcare and to work alongside such brilliant Trustees, Executive colleagues, staff, volunteers and partners.

“Brunelcare has a proud history and a vital purpose: providing high-quality housing, care and support for later life. I have seen first-hand the dedication of colleagues across the organisation and the positive difference they make every day for residents, customers and families.

“There is important work ahead, including continuing to improve customer satisfaction, investing in our homes, preparing for regulatory inspection, continuing to strengthen our financial sustainability, supporting the recruitment of a substantive Chief Executive and ensuring a smooth transition to a new Chair.”
