Halfway there: Kath’s fundraiser

After pledging to run 510 miles for Brunelcare, our digital marketing coordinator Kath Embling has reached her halfway point.

Kath has run 255 miles since starting the fundraiser, the equivalent of almost 10 marathons, and aims to complete the challenge in mid October.

Starting the fundraiser in May, Kath wanted to raise £500 for essential wellbeing equipment for residents and tenants at Brunelcare. After 10 weeks she has already raised over £1000 - double her target!

Kath said: “I’m so pleased to have reached my half way point! I have run in the rain and sun, with a few aches and pains along the way but it’s all been worth it. I’m delighted to have raised over £1,000 for Brunelcare so far and I hope to continue to raise money and awareness for this wonderful charity. The money I raise will fund wellbeing activities within our care homes and will go towards future day trips for our residents.”

Kath has chosen to run 510 miles to represent the 510 residents and tenants across our care homes and extra care housing sites. She runs an average of 3.3 miles per day, and by the end of the challenge Kath will have run the equivalent of 19.4 marathons!

Kath has been documenting her daily run using Strava that can be accessed via her Just Giving page for our tenants and residents to keep an eye on.
