Oona Goldsworthy has joined Brunelcare as our new Chief Executive Officer, appointed on 14th October, 2019.

Oona will be working with our board to guide the strategic direction of the organisation whilst ensuring Brunelcare is run efficiently and managing the day-to-day operations of our charity.

Oona was previously the CEO of United Communities housing association in Bristol where she remained at the helm for 16 years, growing the organisation from its inception to become one of the leading providers of affordable homes in the City.

Oona is passionate about improving the choices for the older members of our community to be able to live in safe, good quality homes and communities with brilliant care. In 2017, Oona was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to research global approaches to housing millennials, which included intergenerational housing and is hoping to bring some of these models to Brunelcare. Oona has been campaigning for fairer priced and well designed homes since her 20’s and feels fortunate to have been able to have turned her passion into her career.

Oona says: “I’m very excited about starting my journey as CEO at Brunelcare, it’s a fantastic organisation  with a long legacy of pioneering in terms of design and care provision, which I intend to build upon.  I’m looking forward to re-imagining the next era for Brunelcare as we gear up to ‘baby boomers’ expectations  for different types of homes and care, with over 65’s making up 28% of the population by 2025.”
