Tips to make your money go further
Carry out a financial health check
You can receive dedicated support from one of our Income Officers who will be able undertake a financial health check by carrying out an income and expenditure exercise. This is to ensure that you are receiving and/or claiming the correct level of benefits that you are entitled to.
Referral for specialist advice
We can refer you to more specialist money advice such as the Help When You Need It Service or to a support agency that can help with more complex financial matters such as Welfare Rights and Money Advice Service (WRAMAS).
Support via the Financial Support Fund
You may be eligible for support via Brunelcare’s Financial Support Fund.
Food banks
When money is tight some residents may find it difficult to eat properly particularly if spending money to pay other bills. In these situations, we can help you by referring you to a Food bank referral. We work with a number of local food bank organisations to secure food vouchers to access basic store cupboard essentials.
