Services available
Housing and money advice
runelcare’s Housing Team can offer advice and support to our residents. But there are also a number of other organisations which provide free, impartial advice on a range of topcs including benefits, debt and money, housing, immigration and legal issues.

Pendant Services
Some residents are looking for additional reassurance or extra support because they are prone to falling or a little unsteady on their feet. Pendant alarm services are traditionally worn around the neck or on the wrist and allows the wearer to call for help with the touch of a button. This will alert the monitoring service that urgent and immediate action is required. This may involve the monitoring service calling a designated emergency contact to call in to check on you or it may involve the monitoring service to call for an ambulance or emergency service.
If residents feel they would like to use a pendant service, we will work with you to explore what options are available.
Financial Support Fund
Brunelcare has a Financial Support Fund to help support customers in times of financial need.
Grants from the Fund will cover the following:
- Essential white goods, furniture and floor coverings
- Home adaptations to support independent living
- Other essential items, equipment or services to support basic living needs

Help When You Need It (HWYNI)
Help When You Need It is a confidential, free and friendly service provided by Brunelcare and funded by Bristol City Council, to help people over the age of 55 who live within the Bristol local authority boundaries and are in need of support.
All referrals are followed up with an assessment of your individual circumstances. We will work with you to create a personalised set of outcomes and give you the support you need to achieve them.
We can support you to:
- Maintain accommodation/tenancy or secure accommodation
- Manage mental health and wellbeing
- Prevent loneliness and isolation
- Self-manage physical health and well being
- Maximise income, reduce debt or find paid work
- Stay safe
Reablement - ‘Home from Hospital’
Brunelcare operates several reablement services to help you get back on your feet after being discharged from a stay in hospital. Whether it’s in your own home or one of our specialist reablement centres, our personalised support will help you re-learn vital skills to regain your confidence.
