How to get involved
There are lots of ways you can get involved in shaping and influencing the services you receive. You can find out more about the different ways we will work with you on this page.

Working in partnership with you
At Brunelcare, residents are at the heart of everything we do, and we believe the best services are created in partnership with the people who use them. Whether it’s sharing feedback, taking part in conversations about change, or helping us test new approaches, your involvement plays a crucial role in creating services that are responsive, reliable, and centred around you.
We’re proud of the range of opportunities available for residents to get involved in, such as:
- Our Residents First Group
- Focus groups on projects like the Annual Report
- Speaking at Board meetings
- Interviews to appoint new Trustees and Executive Directors
- Reviewing policies and procedures
- Influence contracts and help choose contractors
- Feedback through surveys and consultations
Join our Residents First Group
The Residents First Group was established as a forum for residents to share regular feedback and provide scrutiny across a range of key areas. Through open discussion, ongoing feedback, and collaborative planning, the group helps strengthen the quality and consistency of the services delivered across our Sheltered Housing and Extra Care Housing sites.
Key achievements and highlights of the Residents First Group include:
- Shaping decisions and key projects – Resident feedback has directly influenced a number of decisions and pieces of work that affect people living in our housing schemes.
- Scrutiny of performance – In 2025, the group’s remit expanded to include a stronger focus on performance monitoring. A set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) is now brought to the group regularly, enabling members to review performance, understand progress, and hold Brunelcare to account for meeting targets.
- Annual Report input – The group plays an important role in shaping and provifing feedback on our Annual Report. Their feedback—alongside input from a dedicated report focus group—helped make the final publication clearer, more accessible, and better aligned with residents’ needs.
- Energy contracts and service charges – the group’s input on these key topics has directly influenced Brunelcare’s approach. This has included encouraging a review of the service charge process to allow more time for consultation, as well as helping to shape the organisation’s strategy for securing long-term energy contracts, which directly affects housing customers.
