Safety checks

We are required by law to carry out a number of safety checks in your home or the communal areas of your site. These are essential to help keep you and your property safe.

Please make sure you provide access for checks and inspections to be carried out when requested.

Key checks

Here is a list of some of the key checks we carry out in both communal areas and within your home:

  • Gas Safety

We carry out an annual service of your gas boiler, flues, and any gas appliances we have installed or supplied. Faulty gas appliances can produce deadly carbon monoxide, and gas leaks can cause explosions. Regular servicing ensures your boiler runs efficiently, saving you money. We also check your Carbon Monoxide detectors during this visit

  • Smoke alarms

We carry out weekly and six-monthly checks to ensure smoke alarms are working and operate as they should in the event of an emergency

  • Electrical safety inspection

This inspection is carried out at least once every 5 years, in both your property and communal areas to all electrical outlets

  • PAT testing

All white goods in communal area are tested once a year

  • Asbestos (visual check)

Asbestos can release harmful fibres if it is damaged or disturbed. We check the condition of any asbestos which is present in your home and communal spaces

  • Fire doors

We check the front door to your property once a year, and communal doors every six months.

  • Legionella

We carry out various water safety checks in communal areas

  • Health & Safety checks

Once every six months, we carry out a Health and Safety Check in residents’ homes. We inspect life safety systems, water, and the overall condition of your property

  • Lift safety

We carry out checks to ensure any lifts in your building are safe. The frequency depends on the type of inspection. For more information, you can visit our Lift Safety page
