We have unveiled our plans for the future in a new six-year organisational strategy for Brunelcare.
This strategy will take us to 2030 and allows us to be ambitious about our future, bringing our vision, ‘Later living that makes the most of every moment’, to life.
It will ensure customers can thrive and live well as a result of our high-quality care and support, fit-for-purpose housing, and involvement in the community, and the colleagues who support them are given fair benefits and good career opportunities.
The plan has been developed throughout this year, in close collaboration with customers, relatives, and colleagues. Listening to the people who live in our homes, receive care and support from us, and work with us, has ensured our plans truly reflect what matters most to them.
The strategy’s four key priorities are:
- Great customer service in every interaction
- Making our homes fit for the future
- The right care and support tailored to you
- A great place to work and thrive
To achieve these priorities, we have set out a series of commitments within the plan to improve our customers’ housing, care and support offer. We will boost property standards with a major improvement and investment plan for priority housing sites and care homes, and be on the road to Net Zero with an aim for all homes to meet an Energy Performance Certificate rating of C by 2030.
Plans to provide care and support that keep people independent for as long as possible include developing a best practice ‘Brunelcare Pathway Model’ of linked care and support for the provision of older people’s care, and the implementation of a ‘Care Home Futures’ plan for investment in the organisation’s care homes and services.
Oona Goldsworthy, Chief Executive at Brunelcare, said: “We are proud to unveil our new strategic plan that will take us to 2030, allowing us to be ambitious about our future and bring positive change to the people we support.
We worked closely with residents, tenants, colleagues, and relatives of the people we care for to ensure the strategy reflects what matters most to them. It was essential to involve as many people as we could to help us shape a strategy with key aims and objectives that work for everyone.
As part of a complex housing, health and social care system with funding and population changes beyond our control, and additional resources likely to be in short supply, we will continue to work creatively with our partners, residents and colleagues in the following years to make the most of what we have, and campaign for a fairer deal for older people and the colleagues who support them.”
We are positive about the new plan and the change that we can bring over the next six years. Please take a moment to watch the short film below which showcases our vision for Brunelcare.
