Shared ownership

Shared ownership with Brunelcare is a great way to enable buyers to purchase a share of the value of their home – usually between 25-75% of the value of the property and pay rent on the remaining portion. No rent is payable once the maximum share of 75% is purchased.

The majority of our shared ownership properties are offered alongside Extra Care. This means that you can continue to live independently within your own home but have access to care and support services tailored to your individual needs

FAQs

  • Do I qualify?

    • You are aged over 60
    • Your maximum income must not exceed £80,000 per annum
    • You are unable to purchase a home suitable for your needs without assistance
    • You do not already own a home, or you will need to sell any existing property owned before purchasing a shared ownership property
    • You will need to be able to secure a mortgage or have sufficient savings to pay the share in full if you are retired
    • If applying for a shared ownership property within an Extra Care scheme, you must meet the required minimum number of hours of care requirement per week
