This week we have published the Brunelcare Annual Report for 2024-25, which details our performance over the last 12 months.
The annual report includes key information about our services and how we met our strategic objectives during the year, including a report from our Board of Trustees, an overview of the structure, governance and management of Brunelcare and supporting case studies from across the charity.
We are pleased to say it has been a positive year for Brunelcare, with plenty of opportunity to build on the successes of the previous year. The launch of the new Brunelcare strategy for 2024-2030 was an important milestone which was created in collaboration with residents, relatives and colleagues to ensure our priorities reflect what matters most to them.
Towards the latter end of the year, our sustainable financial situation allowed us to push forward with our Care Home Futures and sheltered housing redevelopment projects, alongside introducing an Alertacall system at all our sheltered housing sites.
This year’s Annual Report was developed with input from a focus group of Brunelcare colleagues, customers and relatives, who helped inform what content to include and the design and layout of the document, and pushed us to highlight the changes we make for the people we support.
Throughout the report we have highlighted the incredible work taking place across our sites with new spotlight features. From care home resident Harry, whose life was changed by the person-centred care he received at Little Heath Care & Support, to Carole, who no longer feels isolated since moving to Waverley Gardens and forming lifelong friendships, we’ve had some incredible stories from across the charity that showcase our dedication to putting our customers at the heart of everything we do.
Heather, a care home relative and member of the Care Reference Group, said: “My husband, Robin, who has Huntingdon’s disease, has been a resident at Brunelcare’s Deerhurst Care Home for five years.
As a member of Brunelcare’s Care Reference Group, I was invited to help develop the 2024-25 Annual Report. It’s been a privilege to be involved and the project has been extremely interesting.”
We extend a thank you to Heather, Natalie, Elaine and our Residents First Group for their contributions to the report.
Looking ahead to 2026, we will continue to put our customers at the heart of everything we do, and this report details how we aim to further improve the services we provide over the next 12 months.
